Watch as this little baby takes his first steps.
Okay, so you wouldn't call this a "little" baby,
but he's precious nonetheless.
This one month old southern white rhino resides in England's Whipsnade Zoo.
The calf has been tucked away with its mother under the care of veterinarians,
and these are his first steps outdoors.
Births like this little rhino's are to be celebrated,
there simply aren't many of his kind left.
According to the World Wildlife Fund,
southern white rhinos are classified as a near-threatened species,
with only about 17,500 left in the wild.
This calf will join the European Endangered Species Program.
In it, zoos swap animals in order to breed a healthy backup population
in case the species' numbers dwindle in their native habitats.
For now, this baby rhino is learning to stretch his legs and play with others.
He'll be named by the public in a zoo contest.
So, for now, he's just "the baby".
