It's finally happening.
The world's most famous bald eagle couple, Jackie and Shadow, are welcoming two newly hatched baby birds,
with a third egg hopefully hatching soon.
Tens of thousands of people around the world are transfixed to this live 24-hour video feed of the nest
from Big Bear, California.
Local news broke into coverage with the first birth at 11:26 pm last night.
That is one of the babies actually hatching.
This happened moments ago.
You can see the tiny feathers and beak emerge.
At 4:10 a.m., eaglet number two hatched.
Sandy Steers runs the live webcam.
How exciting is this to see these hatchlings?
Oh, it's very exciting.
They appear to be healthy. They've gotten dried off.
They're all fluffy, and Jackie and Shadow can start feeding them.
The births are especially good news since last year's Eagle Watch ended in sadness
when Jackie's eggs failed to hatch.
Today, Jackie and Shadow are focusing on keeping their eaglets and the unhatched egg warm,
as baby chick watch on the live cam captures hearts around the world.
