London Kaye has her Los Angeles neighborhood in stitches.
That's because she's a yarn bomber - hanging up her crocheted creations in public places.
You're putting things outside. You're leaving it there for people to enjoy.
You don't know how long it's gonna stay up,
so you want to make it big and impactful, but then also don't take forever on a certain piece.
London tells KCBS she always gets permission to hang her work so it doesn't get taken down prematurely,
but she never knows what kind of reaction she's going to get.
"That's amazing." - "Thank you."
That's why I love yarn bombing.
The amount of people that get to see your work when you do put it outside in your community is so much more than if you keep it at home stuffed under your bed.
She hopes that a new generation of crocheters will keep the craft alive.
This teen shows some hope, even if she's still learning how to pronounce "crochet".
What's wrong with "crocheting"?
