Dolly Parton is mourning the passing of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean.
This is a photo of them during the early days of their marriage.
And here he is in a rare photo taken in 2019.
"Carl and I spent many wonderful years together."
"Words can't do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years."
"Thank you for your prayers and sympathy," Dolly posted.
She once told Johnny Carson they met at a laundromat
the very day she moved to Nashville in 1964.
"I put my clothes in the wash machine,"
"and I got a cold drink. I was just walking along the sidewalks, just kind of looking around Nashville."
"So this good-looking guy went by, and we met at the Wishy-Washy..."
Her mega-hit Jolene was inspired by an incident where Parton says a bank teller was flirting with her husband.
The great Dolly Parton and her man Carl: an enduring love story.
And I will always love you...
