Watch out, Ikea.
A company in Australia wants to make a bed that could be a breeze to assemble.
It takes about 1 hour to make a king single.
Better yet, the beds are made from 100% recycled plastic.
John Steel came up with the idea of making beds using interlocking plastic bricks.
He melts down pellets that used to be buckets, crates, and other recycled items.
He says every twin-sized bed frame saves 16 lb of plastic from a landfill.
They are expected to last about 10 years,
and then it will be time to recycle the whole bed.
But what's it like to sleep in one of these things?
Some athletes have been testing them out, telling CBS News:
I think it's really good. It's just completely noise-free, so...
there's no creaking or anything like that.
A noise-free night's sleep adding to the peace of mind that your bed is helping the environment.
