The family who found her, included a veterinarian, who sprang into action to save the kitten.
Veterinary staff at the Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego County
named the kitten Evergreen as a nod to the tree in which she was found.
While receiving medical care, Evergreen was placed with a foster family.
In this new environment, she has thrived.
Evergreen has even learned how to get along with the family dog.
Now it's time for this feline Christmas surprise to find a forever home of her own.
Creative applications are being taken to adopt Evergreen.
The Helen Woodward Animal Center is asking prospective families to submit a 100-word essay
or record a one minute video explaining why they feel Evergreen should be their kitten.
